A brief update Philip Fowler, 23rd October 201727th September 2021 A bit over six months since BashTheBug launched, and it is still attracting new Citizen Scientists – over 7,350 people have contributed to the project now – and the rate of classifications shows no sign of slowing. Each week the volunteers do 5,000 to 10,000 classifications and, as a result, the project has now done a shade over 431,000 classifications. Excitingly, we have finished our first dataset and so released a set of new images for everyone to work one. As soon as we’ve got some results or news about publications, I’ll share them here. The top ten users are still doing a huge number of classifications between them, 85,172 which is 20% of all classifications.
