August 2018 update Philip Fowler, 6th August 201827th September 2021 It has been a while since I updated everyone on how BashTheBug is going. 11,303 people have done 834,032 classifications of bacterial growth The CRyPTIC project has produced a new dataset of 4,286 photographs of 96-well plates; rather than send all of these to the volunteers, we are instead focussing your efforts on the most difficult 16% of the images. As of about a week ago, we uploaded 9,703 images which will require 145,545 classifications, so plenty to do! You should find these images more challenging and interesting. Watch this space for a Zooniverse blog and newsletter! The top ten users continue to do a lot of the of classifications (17.4%)! The top 100 users do just under half (48.5%) of all classifications. Overall the project has a Gini coefficient of 0.85.
